SIMKL

SIMKL keeps track of the films and series you watch, like Trakt. Connect it and IPTV Deck checks off what you play. A free SIMKL account is enough.

Connecting it

1. Create a free account at simkl.com if you do not have one.
2. Settings → Integrations → SIMKL → Connect with a code, on a phone, a tablet, a television or a computer.
3. On a phone the SIMKL page opens; enter the code it shows there if it asks, approve, then come back and choose Done, I approved it. On a television and a computer the app shows a QR code: scan it with your phone, sign in to SIMKL there and approve.
4. The card changes to Signed in as your SIMKL name.

No SIMKL password is typed into IPTV Deck.

• Each profile connects its own SIMKL account. What a profile plays goes only to the account that profile connected. A profile cannot borrow another profile’s SIMKL.
• Connecting once is enough for all your devices when Keep my passwords in my account is on. With it off, each device connects with its own code.

What it does

• What you play here, films and episodes, is marked as watched in SIMKL by itself. Live channels, catch-up and recordings are not sent.
• What you watched elsewhere shows as watched here, and what you unmark here leaves SIMKL too.
• Your Plan to Watch list is your watchlist: the rows From your SIMKL watchlist and New episodes of your shows on SIMKL can be on Home, and a title page adds to it.
• Ratings from 1 to 10, for films and series. SIMKL has no favourites and no episode ratings.

A title has to be known to TMDB to reach SIMKL. One the app cannot identify is skipped; the others are tracked as usual.

The app checks SIMKL when it starts, when you come back to it, and when you open a title page. Sync with SIMKL now checks straight away, and Send what I watched here to SIMKL adds the films and episodes you finished in IPTV Deck before you connected, with their dates. SIMKL keeps what it already has.

Disconnecting

Disconnect on the SIMKL card disconnects the profile you are in, and also withdraws IPTV Deck’s access on SIMKL’s side. When the sign-in is kept in your account, your other devices disconnect the profile too. The account panel lists the connected profiles under Integrations and can disconnect each of them.

If it stops working

• That code expired. Start again.: press Connect with a code again.
• SIMKL has not seen your approval yet.: finish the approval on simkl.com, then try again.
• The approval was declined on SIMKL.: start again and approve.
• SIMKL did not answer (HTTP …). Try again in a moment.: SIMKL is busy or down.
• Another device did not connect by itself. Check that it is signed in to the same IPTV Deck account, that Keep my passwords in my account is on, and that you are in the profile that connected SIMKL.
