The account panel in your browser

The account panel is IPTV Deck in a web browser, for setting things up with a keyboard and a big screen instead of a remote. It edits your account: what you change there reaches your phones and TVs. It does not play anything.

Address: iptvdeck.zssoftware.eu. It works in any browser, on a computer or a phone. On a phone it has a bar at the bottom with Dashboard, Playlists, Devices and Library.

The sign-in page offers:

  • Sign in with your phone: the page shows a QR code and a code. Scan the QR code with the camera of a phone that has IPTV Deck signed in, or type the code in the app under Settings → Devices → Connect a device.
  • Continue with Google or Continue with Apple.
  • Email and password, with Create your account and Reset your password.

Use the same account as in the app.

Three things can stand between signing in and the dashboard:

  • Unlock your account, when end-to-end encryption is on: type the Recovery code or the Sync password, or approve it with your phone. The key stays in that browser tab and is forgotten when you close it.
  • Your data is in your Google Drive: the panel cannot open data synced to your own Drive. Switch back to the IPTV Deck cloud in the app (Settings → Sync) to use the panel.
  • Nothing has synced yet: sign in to the same account in the app first.

Account → Dashboard PIN locks only the panel, at least 4 characters. Your phones and TVs do not ask for it, and it does not encrypt anything. Removing it when you forgot it asks for the account password, or a Google or Apple confirmation.

The top bar shows You are setting up with a profile. Pick another one to change what that profile sees, its look, its hidden categories and its sign-ins. A profile with a PIN asks for it. Each page says what it changes for the profile and what for everyone.

The top bar also shows whether sync is up to date, how your passwords are kept, and your plan.

On Device settings, pick a device, then Copy from another device to bring another device’s settings to it, or Copy to other devices to send its settings to the devices you tick. Untick a group you want to leave out. Afterwards each device keeps its own. More on Copying settings from another device.

  • A setting for the whole account says your devices get it the next time they sync. A device that is open gets it within seconds.
  • A setting for one device says Sent to that device when it is online, or that it gets it the next time it is online.
  • Remote keys, opening a screen and stopping playback reach an online device at once. A device takes one command at a time, and a new one replaces one it has not taken yet.

A device on an older version of the app says Update IPTV Deck on that device to change this here.

Some things are changed only in the app, and the panel says where:

  • turning end-to-end encryption on or off, and Keep my passwords in my account: Settings → Encryption on a phone,
  • where your data is stored: Settings → Sync,
  • connecting Trakt and SIMKL, which happens on each device with a code,
  • a few device settings, such as the tablet layout, Run in the background and Alerts when IPTV Deck is closed.

The panel cannot play channels or films, and it does not download the guide: guide updates run on your devices.

The lists of categories and channels, and guide matching, need to read your playlist. The panel does that with the free IPTV Deck Connector extension for Chrome or Edge on a computer. It reads the playlist straight from your provider inside your browser, so our servers never see it. Without it those pages say Install IPTV Deck Connector to…, and everything else works in any browser.

It reads Xtream Codes and M3U playlists. A MAC portal and a media server say Only the IPTV Deck apps can read this kind of playlist.

  • The panel says Nothing has synced yet. You signed in with another account than the app, or the app has not synced yet. Check the email in the app under Settings → Account.
  • A device in the list does not react. Open IPTV Deck on it: a device takes commands only while the app is open.
  • A device says Signed out. It signed out of your account and Nothing from this account is kept on it. Normally such a device leaves the list by itself; remove it if it stays.
  • A change does not reach a device. Check that sync is on for that kind of data in Passwords & privacy → What syncs, and that the device is signed in to the same account.
